Wedding should never be stressful for brides or grooms. When you think about it, wedding is simply an event and wedding planning is a process of organising multiple projects leading to such a great event. As with other life events like pregnancy, schools, study, work, dating, friends and family gatherings etc, none of these events should be stressful for you unless you have already formed a habit of associating stress and negativity to certain life events.
Wedding couples often point wrongly to what actually cause their stress. It is not the wedding nor other matters such as changed body shapes or getting pregnant. It is simply how you view, frame, interpret and handle these life events that determine the level of stress or happiness you experience or feel.
Smile Brings Life. Stress Kills You.
Michael Mosley talked about in his BBC documentary “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” that studies had proven people who have a positive mind and a happy lifestyle live on average 7.5 years longer than those who are negative and easily stressed. Furthermore, Channel Ten’s 2nd March 2016 Eyewitness News mentioned that researches showed stress will worsen the spreading of cancer cells.
Therefore we must learn to manage stress, find a more positive emotional association to certain life events and distance ourselves from people who intend to spread negativity and pass their own miserable life to others. Please remember that negativity people enjoy bringing you down, making you feel smaller, limiting your potential, and often blaming others for the mistake they’ve made or the wrong decision they’ve chosen. Worst of all, they take life away from you bit by bit and piece by piece.
Smile or stress? It’s your choice.
